POLICY
of the Latvian National
Accreditation Bureau
Latvian National Accreditation Bureau (hereinafter referred to as the „Bureau”) as
a National accreditation institution operating under the supervision
of the Ministry
of Economics and National accreditation
council is providing a common system for conformity
assessment of laboratories, certification and inspection bodies, and environment
verifiers. This system ensures the results of
the above bodies are recognized
internationally and meet the requirements
of the Latvian
national economy, and provides confirmation
of the conformity
of the products
produced by the Latvian entrepreneurs
to the requirements of the European
and international standards.
The Bureau maintains and continuously improves a quality management system designed in accordance
with the requirements of the standard LVS EN ISO/IEC 17011, following
the principles of the standard
LVS EN ISO 9001 and EA recommendations
and decisions, and ensures it is understood and
implemented throughout the entire scope
of the Bureau’s operations.
The Bureau provides assessment, accreditation and surveillance of the conformance
of testing and calibration laboratories, certification and inspection bodies, and environment
verifiers to the requirements set forth in LVS EN 45000 and LVS EN ISO 17000 series of st
The Bureau:

Fosters international recognition of the results of
the bodies accredited within the Latvian National
Accreditation System thus minimizing technical barriers to trade;

Satisfies the expectations
of its clients
who expect accreditation will result in improvement
of their quality systems, technical competence and the quality
of provided services, and increase
the confidence in the conformity
assessment results issued by their
bodies at national and international
levels;
·
Administers the assessment
and accreditation processes in a non-discriminatory way, safeguarding impartiality, objectivity and integrity of its
activities;
·
Ensures its clients
have access to the necessary information
related to assessment procedures;
·
Cooperates with accreditation
bureaus of foreign countries;
·
Based on comprehensive
information continuously improves the quality
of its services;
·
Continuously improves the competence of its employees,
assessors and experts;
·
Continuously improves the working conditions
of its employees,
assessors and experts;
·
Harmonizes the requirements
and assessment procedures by participating
in the EA technical committees, elaboration of documents and evaluations
of other accreditation institutions at European and
international levels
